Bought brand new on 2/7/2000. AMD K6 with 32MB RAM and has a 4gb HDD. Shes a real screamer. Now I just needto find a serial cable.

I kinda wish modern laptops came with combination locks...

I kinda want to get a nice thick laptop like that and put a more modern stuff inside it. I don’t know if it can be done, but it would be awesome.

The issues would be the screen/keyboard. And getting any of the ports to work proper.

98 SE
It feels so ancient by just about any metric. But I think the software I need won’t actually run on anything newer.

That would be cool. I had an old Compaq portable that I wanted to do the same thing with. I think I still have it somewhere, I’m not sure.

I dunno, he seems to have a thing for almost any old equipment, though I do know he prefers ThinkPads. Still, this is what I got at the moment.

My guess would be Kinja.
I had to order a 9 pin female-female serial cable for it, as I don’t have any laying around anymore. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow night I’ll have time to play with it some more.
My only real complain is there’s no track pad or anything like that, you have to use the nub in the keyboard and it’s very difficult to modulate.

Yeah, I’m excited. I’m using it to run a Rika Trainer. Im an assistant coach for a junior rifle team. The Rika allows you to practice indoors without ammo, it’s pretty slick, but also weird. Apparently you need to setup a floppy disk to record scores for each user, so I need to find a source of floppy disks. I’ll post up once I get it all working.
